High-Definition Content Now Available

As technology advances, so, too, does SolTerra's ability to deliver the best quality media productions to our clients. Having recently converted our video recording and editing equipment from Standard Definition (SD) to High Definition (HD), SolTerra Productions remains on the cutting edge of modern video production.

High Definition technology has many advantages over Standard Definition technology.

In order to help you better understand the differences between Standard and High Definition, we have included the following information about the differences.

• Aspect Ratio - Standard television has a 4:3 aspect ratio - it is four units wide by three units high. HDTV has a 16:9 aspect ratio, more like a movie screen.
• Resolution - Standard television sets used today in the United States and Canada (and many other countries) display about 640 x 480 pixels. The highest HDTV resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. In terms of pixels, you could fit almost 7 (6.75 to be exact) SD screens inside of a HD screen! See graphic below.
